Welcome to the School Office!

Hi!  My name is Charlene Brinkman.  I love working at SMA as School Secretary!

I grew up in New Orleans, graduated from Annunciation High School, and studied at Delgado Community College.

I am a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church.  My Family:  Married Donald (1970) , 2 children, 4 grandchildren.

I have been in Catholic education for over 25 years. Most of my teaching experience was at St. Mary Magdalen School (PreK-3 through 8^th grade) as a paraprofessional and long-term substitute teacher.  I, also, worked as Director of the Before & After School Care and Summer Camp programs.

This is my 13^th year at St. Matthew – (2007) Permanent Substitute Teacher (2011-present) Full-Time Secretary.  In addition to wearing many hats in the secretary position, I am editor of the SMA Yearbook and Moderator of the Photo Club.   

Over the years, I’ve been a volunteer parent leader in catholic school organizations – St. Mary Magdalen, Archbishop Rummel, Mt. Carmel, CCSCC (Council of Catholic School Cooperative Clubs); and, in health and fitness - NOTC (New Orleans Track Club, Inc.) and Jazzercise. 

I truly enjoy working, assisting, and caring for our SMA family!
