St. Matthew had an outstanding presence at the recent Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators (LACUE) Conference, showcasing our dedication to innovation in education and professional growth. From award recognition to impactful presentations, our school made its mark while bringing along our entire faculty to engage in this transformative experience.
A highlight of the conference was the recognition of our very own principal, Tony Bonura, who was named LACUE Leader of the Year. This prestigious award reflects his visionary leadership and tireless commitment to fostering a culture of technology integration and excellence at St. Matthew.
Two of our talented teachers, Holly Pisciotta and Kimi Klotz, also took center stage as presenters. Their session, “5 Apps for Dynamic Presentations: Empowering Your Students,” provided attendees with practical tools and insights to enhance student engagement and creativity in the classroom. Holly and Kimi’s expertise and passion for empowering students through technology were evident and well-received.
St. Matthew also hosted a dynamic roundtable discussion titled “Our Apple Learning Journey,” led by Tony Bonura, Rhonda Foret, Kimi Klotz, and Holly Pisciotta. The panel shared the transformative steps our school has taken to integrate Apple technology into our classrooms, highlighting both the successes and the lessons learned along the way. Their insights provided inspiration and practical strategies for schools seeking to deepen their use of innovative tools for learning.
What made this experience truly exceptional was the full participation of the entire St. Matthew faculty, underscoring our collective commitment to professional development and continued growth. By attending LACUE together, our team not only gained new ideas and tools but also strengthened our shared vision for the future of teaching and learning at St. Matthew.
Congratulations to all who represented our school so well. We are grateful for this opportunity to shine, learn, and share at LACUE, and we look forward to putting our new insights into practice for the benefit of our students!
